PLANT PLANET:
April/ May 2025
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
*tap tap*... is this thing on?
Hello! Welcome to another wonderful issue of Plant Planet! As the sun is
beginning to shine and the world seems a little brighter, it’s the perfect time
of year to become more aware of our planet and look at it through a greener
approach. Good job this new issue focuses on just that!
Firstly, you may have noticed a new name change… so, let me take this chance
to welcome you to Machine Power Media! We are, however, still the same team.
Darren Shelton has become our new Managing Director, and we’re so excited for
this fresh, new beginning! Still the same family, just a new name. We can’t wait to
share more of our new chapter with everyone, and as always, our commitment is
with YOU in the construction and demolition sectors.
Our Industry Corner (written by Ren Rush) and feature article (written by Lorna
Cowlin) discuss fitting topics such as reducing your carbon footprint, going
net-zero and the circular economy model, showcasing the companies that are
following these protocols and how, and showing how the world of construction is
giving back to the planet.
The theme for this issue is important as it’s something that needs to be put into
practise more. The construction sector is a significant contributor to global carbon
emissions, accounting for roughly 40% of total emissions. So many companies,
however, are trying to reduce this. It may be a big, tough industry, but if we all play
our part and do our bit, we can thrive even more, knowing what we are doing is
kind to the world we call home!
And with that, I shall wrap up and conclude, and let you guys get reading! With all
the love we try to give back to the planet, and all the joy that’s had on-site, I hope
you can take that all with you as the sunnier weather approaches. Here’s hoping
we have some lovely weather coming our way… we certainly deserve it!
Happy reading!
