Powered by a Stage V-compliant Kubota D1803 1.8L turbocharged 3-cylinder diesel engine, operators benefit from 50hp (37kW) at 2,700rpm and a peak torque of 150.5Nm at 1,600rpm. Thanks to the integration of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), emissions are minimised, while fuel economy is optimised.
Available in either swivel tip skip with 180° rotation (to enable precise lateral unloading without manoeuvres) or front tip skip variants, the new model is designed with an articulated and oscillating chassis to ensure excellent manoeuvrability and off-road capability. Indeed, it delivers head and shoulders above the competition, even on the most challenging terrains.
The 3.5MDX uses high and low range gearing for both forward and reverse, as well as permanent four-wheel drive – delivering torque on demand. A travel speed of up to 12.4mph (20kph) ensures that loads can be moved quickly and precisely across site, while hydrostatic transmission makes operation effortless.

With an operating weight of just 2,990kg, length of 3.8m, width of 1.9m and height of 2.8m, the innovative model is both highly compact and highly manoeuvrable. This provides operators with the perfect solution to carry high payloads in confined spaces and makes transport between sites quick and simple.
As with each model in the Mecalac site dumper family, the 3.5MDX prioritises safety, practicality and outstanding operator comfort. Ergonomic controls and a fully adjustable seat create a relaxed environment, while the unique isolated cabin layout minimises vibration and noise. Alongside featuring front and rear LED work lights as standard, the fully enclosed cab offers a number of optional extras, including air conditioning.
While safety-critical features have been incorporated into the overall design of the 3.5MDX, including easy reach steps and handrails, the new model also features Shield – Mecalac’s comprehensive package of safety-critical operator features – as standard. Key technologies include start & drive interlock, handbrake warning, digital speedometer, fuel loss warning sensor, automatic idle shut-off, park brake test and Stop-Start Control™. All Shield safety features are adjustable to suit different applications and can be disabled where not required.
