New Komatsu Ultra-Short Tail PC228 Attracts Big Buyers

PC228

Described as the ‘all-round’ ultra-short tail excavator, the new Komatsu PC228 USLC-11 would appear to have captured the imagination of Irish buyers if details released by Irish Komatsu distributors, McHale Plant Sales are a guide.

During the past year, the Birdhill and Rathcoole-based company recorded sales solidly in double digit territory with a number of prominent names featuring amongst the buyers.

Amongst them was Connacht Contractors and Rossmore Civils, followed by Tipperary-based ESK, Wexford-based contractor, Sutton, Newbridge-based Murphy International and Cavan-based plant hire specialist, O’Reilly – the latter also adding a wheeled PW 148 model excavator to its purchase list.

Commenting, McHale sales director Denis McGrath said: “More than its short tail swing and EU Stage V emissions engine, Irish buyers are attracted by the PC228 -11’s economy with fuel consumption up to 6 percent lower than its predecessor.”

“Other features attracting buyers are its safety and improved operator comfort,” McGrath said.
