SaMoTer, the largest construction event in Italy has been postponed amid worries over the spread of Covid-19, also known as the Coronavirus. The event, held in Verona, Italy, is in one of the most affected areas of the country.
The board of directors of Veronafiere SpA met in the last week of February and acknowledged the impossibility of ensure proper timing for set-up, dismantling and logistics operations for upcoming trade fair events. In relation to the requirements of the ordinance issued by the Ministry of Health and the Veneto Region concerning Covid-19, it was decided to postpone the event.

SaMoTer, the international construction equipment trade fair, will now be held 16-20 May 2020. The other events held in conjunction with SaMoTer will also share the same date: Asphaltica, the road infrastructure event, ICCX Southern Europe (precast) and LetExpo, the sustainable logistics trade fair.
The news follows reports that the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Italy has risen to 1,689 this Sunday (01st March 2020).
