McGovern Plant Hire at 95% fleet rejuvenation following new management in June 2023

Major investments made in Hitachi excavators, JCB dumpers, and Mammoth MTS suction excavators

Since joining the company in April 2023, Shane Sherbourne hit the ground running and superseded targets within 4 weeks of starting. Being appointed Managing Director in June 2023 was the logical step for McGovern Plant Hire, and now, in February 2024, over 90% of the fleet has been completely turned around to provide customers with the latest technology.

Leading manufacturers Hitachi, Kubota, JCB and Mammoth MTS are amongst those that have benefitted from Shane’s rapid expansion and resurgence. With Hitachi’s mixed-fleet telematics, CT FleetLink, embedded in almost every excavator, roller, and dumper, this year is a year of advancing all types of technology and innovations for McGovern Plant Hire.

“Providing operated and self-drive plant isn’t enough anymore. We need to take the traditional construction industry into the modern world of technology to provide construction companies and projects with the means to do the very best they can, as efficiently as they can, and in the most cost-effective way”

“Our customers know what we’re offering, and it’s why they’re still working with us. Anti-theft, height and slew restrictors, and digital engine management and machine control is a standard for us now” explains Shane.

The West London-based plant hire firm are family owned, and run a fleet of over 100 pieces of machinery ranging from the ultra-efficient suction excavators, the highway staple wheeled excavators, road sweepers with in-house waste disposal, and everything in between.
