Prolectric, the off-grid, renewable lighting, and power specialist, has announced the launch of the company’s first transatlantic business, with an office opening in Garland, Texas, USA, with immediate effect.
The new US office based at Prolectric’s parent company, Hill & Smith, Texas, will be headed up by Ben Odell, Business Development Lead, Prolectric USA. The new operation will focus primarily on the distribution of Prolectric’s market leading ‘Smart’ tower lights and hybrid generators.
As a solar-first business, Prolectric is a British manufacturer of sustainable solar lighting and solar hybrid power generators, serving a wide range of industries from construction, housebuilding and rail to major infrastructure. The company leads the way in smart, clean, renewable technology, and is focussed on setting new engineering standards in AI and advanced telematics software, as part of its award-winning solar lighting and power technology product portfolio.
Rachel Preen, Managing Director, Prolectric, said: “The US market for solar is extremely buoyant. With expected growth in new solar capacity, Texas has tremendous potential for us. We warmly welcome Ben Odell, our business development lead in the US, to Prolectric. His wealth of experience in the construction sector is perfectly placed to support businesses looking to save on their fleet running costs and transition away from diesel to solar power. This market opportunity provides a natural progression for us to scale the business, building on our rapid UK growth ambition, Prolectric’s robust solar credentials, award-winning product standards for British engineering and CSR.”
Prolectric’s solar technology provides a practical way for businesses to achieve their carbon-reduction commitments, enabling the simple switch from fossil-fuelled and mains powered systems, with a comprehensive range of direct like-for-like diesel replacements. Since launching the company’s first award-winning solar lighting tower in 2016, they have saved
over 30,000 tons of CO2e (equivalent to emissions from the annual energy use of approximately 2,700 homes) and reduced diesel usage by more than 2.6 million gallons. In the UK to date, this represents a customer saving of over $3 million.
Prolectric is committed to providing practical and commercially viable ways for businesses to move away from fossil fuels to reduce carbon emissions, achieve their net zero goals and save money.
