Plant Planet are strong advocates for Mental Health, well-being and the need for the industry to make a collaborative effort at reducing the issue of Mental ill-Health.
It is reported that male workers within the Construction Industry are a shocking 3 times more likely to commit suicide than those in other industries. Clearly, this is a topic in need of careful consideration within our sector.

The Building Mental Health Charter‘s objective is ‘to demonstrate a commitment and acceptance that the companies or organisations engaged will adopt the charter principles.’
Plant Planet have signed this charter to pledge commitment to raising awareness of Mental ill-Health concerns within the Construction Industry. At Plant Planet, we believe it is vital that everyone involved in the Industry and related fields be educated on this topic, be equipped to notice symptoms, and feel able to offer support when necessary.
Plant Planet would like to express that starting a dialogue with colleagues, whether you are management or not, can make a huge difference. Even the smallest gesture can help provide support for an individual suffering with depression, anxiety, stress, or another concern.
Plant Planet’s Business Manager Darren Shelton commented
Poor Mental Health is an issue that we have noticed is occurring more and more throughout the industry. Any way that we can support our own employees and the wider industry can help to end the stigma and open a dialogue on an important issue.
Nobody can be fully aware what others are going through; be kind and you might end up saving a life. It costs nothing to be a good person.
